Mark Barrett has created several bands over the years and has been involved in a number of successful projects throughout his career in the music industry. Barrett's music career started in his home town of Houston, Texas. His creativity in stage work, songwriting and song selection landed him in Las Vegas performing special events with local radio stations, UNLV events and a number of popular venues throughout the Vegas valley. In 1995, Mark's party band "Sour Grapes" was voted Best Local Band by the Las Vegas Review Journal Readers Poll. A few years later, Barrett found himself becoming more creative in his songwriting and composing and was bound to his studio for the next three years. In March of 2007, Barrett went back to his roots and founded his new high energy Rockin' Country party band called " The Mark Barrett Project ". By October 2007, The Project was the first runner for the "Double Down Throw Down" presented by 95.5 KWNR and Bud Select. In June of 2008, The Mark Barrett Project was first runner up for the "Kenny Chesney Next Big Star" contest presented by 95.5 KWNR and The Next Big Star.
Behind the front man Mark Barrett is a band of combined talents and seasoned musicians bringing to stage a full hour of energy showcasing Mark's original country songs or a three hour split set of the most popular country music on the radio today. The Project has been country rockin' stages throughout the Las Vegas Valley leaving their listeners wanting more and delivering what they promise. Recently, Mark Barrett has planted his roots in the BIG STATE of TEXAS and performs nightly with his band "COUNTRY REIGN".
